WHAT OUR
PEOPLE SAY

Come and learn what our people from different countries of operation have to say about working for GCC Services

Badreddine Lombarkia (Ghana)

Badreddine Lombarkia is currently our Construction Manager, Africa. Prior to joining the company as a full-time employee in 2015, he was working as an independent contractor in Iraq in various construction projects. Let’s see what he has to say about being part of the company since then.

After more than 5 years in the organization, I can say that it’s been full of learning experiences. The company’s good workplace culture has given me the advantage to grow my skills and knowledge. There is a direct link between employee satisfaction, client satisfaction, and profitability within the organization and I am really overwhelmed to be a part of it. The company provides a whole bunch of opportunities to anyone in the organization, especially for those who have the drive for it. The most important thing that I appreciate is the learning that comes with those opportunities, which fueled my learning appetite. Every team member plays a valuable role in ensuring we “hit the right note” with our customers through the delivery of excellent, on-time solutions.  We all embrace the company’s core Values, Mission, and Vision and realize they lead to a caring, committed, and driven team. We honor a positive “can do” attitude and willingness to “think outside the box” because we know these vital skills yield innovative solutions. We embrace new team members and provide them with support and opportunities for growth.

Not only does GCC Services care about their employees, but they also care about the world we live in, and the causes that employees support. Even though I am far from home, I feel like GCC Services is my home; it is really “HOME AWAY FROM HOME” company.

Meghraj Shrestha (Sudan)

Meghraj Shrestha, or Meg as his colleagues fondly call him is currently the Depot Manager for one of our projects in Sudan. He joined us in August 2013 as a Warehouse Supervisor, he was then promoted to Warehouse Manager in January 2016, and was promoted again as the Depot Manager in July 2017. Read on to know more about what Meg has to say about the kind of work environment and team he has.

Working with GCC Services surrounded by a diverse team, I  always feel proud to work where genuine respect for one another and working together as a team is present. I am always excited to work, where there are no limitations for growth and I’ve always been encouraged by this. Continually improving my knowledge and skills energizes me to move forward with the company. For me, working with GCC services is a great pleasure and a privilege.

I joined GCC Services in August 2013, as a Warehouse Supervisor, and I worked as an acting warehouse manager for almost a year. During the mobilization period, there were several challenges we faced; the mission was understaffed, there was limited equipment and work facilities were still undergoing completion, and at the same time we need to be compliant and meet the client’s standards. Despite these challenges, I took them on and moved forward. I am passionate about my work, I love what I do and I have steady source of motivation that drives me to do my best. This passion led me to challenge myself daily and learn new skills that helped me to do better work. It is the result now where I am as Depot Manager, there is a lot of room for advancement and growth within the company.

I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with such an organization where there is respect to all people regardless of their background, promotes trust, rewards employees, encourages, and creates an environment to learn and grow. Getting support, positive feedback, trust from my senior management always inspired me to work hard, to face challenges and fulfill the company’s values and goals.

During this above 6 years of experience with GCC Services in different positions, it has directly impacted my professional and personal life. GCC Services is instrumental in my career growth.

Diane Arakaza

As we operate in challenging environments, we make sure that we provide a safe and great environment for our staff. Let’s hear what Diane has to say about her own journey working in what most people would describe as a challenging environment.

My name is Diane Arakaza and I come from the beautiful country of Burundi. I joined GCC Services in 2011.

I commenced work with this amazing company firstly in Libya. After spending six months honing my skills in the hospitality sector, I was asked to take on a fantastic challenge, and become only the second-ever female employed to serve for GCC Services in Iraq at that time. The training, guidance and mentoring I received from management went far beyond what I had experienced before or was expecting. In a matter of months, I was offered and accepted the position of Housekeeping Manager.

My biggest thrill is passing on the excellent training I initially received to my own team members. Being a female in what was once a predominantly male environment, held its own challenges. However, the GCC Services Iraq Team, from senior management down to housekeeping personnel, not only gave me continual support; they positively encouraged me through every step of my journey.

GCC Services has a tagline that reads “A Home Away From Home”. At first I just thought that this was merely a clever catchphrase. However, being part of the GCC Services family has taught me that far from being a simple tagline, it is a way of life. I feel part of the family group that is GCC Services and my confidence in myself and my own performance has increased because in no small way to that feeling of belonging and being at “home”.

I may have been only the second female to be employed by GCC Iraq back in 2011, but it has become evident that as other women from different countries and cultures have joined our family since then: I will not be the last.

Debashish Ghosh

I worked with GCC Services Iraq from 2007 to 2012 and now again from August 2018 onwards with GCC Services UAE.

From the very first day, I have been provided with the training and tools I need to help educate me and be successful in my career. This is my first job in UAE and the main reason why I have accepted to come and work here is because my employer will be GCC Services. Management is very supportive, they empower us to make decisions in our line of work, and addresses all staff concerns without discrimination.

I joined GCC Services as Cook in August 2018 and within 6 months, I got promoted as Head Cook. GCC Services gives equal opportunity and fair chance to grow in one’s career. The company has great recognition programs that kept me motivated and encourage me to set personal goals.

I am looking forward to a bright future with GCC Services.
